ARRL Field Day Event

June 25 - June 29

WHEN: June 25th through the 29th

WHERE: Long Valley Work Center Group Campground

Closest Towns: Happy Jack, AZ
Water: No drinking water
Restroom: No Toilets
Operated By: Mogollin Rim District – 928-477-2255

Our campground reservation has been canceled due to the National Forest not opening up the campgrounds.  It sucks, but it’s what we have to deal with.  So we will be finding a dispersed campground nearby and set up shop there.  All are welcome to join us.  To find where we will be set up, monitor our Facebook page.  We will also post the directions as to where we will be on our website as well.

Also, keep in mind that currently, we are in Stage 2 Fire conditions.  So no campfires, no charcoal, and smokers….this is important…..smoke inside your car.  Do not put your cigarettes out on the ground or dispose of the trash in the campground area.  I know we have had people complain about this in the past, but like we keep saying, we do not want to be the club that sets the forest ablaze.  If you are not happy with that rule, even though it’s not ours, then please stay home.

Also, as a reminder, we do video recording, sound recording and take pictures on site.  Let us know if you don’t want to be in any of the pictures or videos.

Location: Just south of the Long Valley Store/Cafe/Garage complex on State Highway 87 (milepost 290) at Clints Well. It is approximately 35 miles northeast of Payson, 50 miles southwest of Winslow, and 60 miles southeast of Flagstaff.

GPS (Map): AREA OF 34°31’16.2″N 111°19’47.6″W

This is a family-friendly event. Alcohol is allowed but must be enjoyed responsibly. Club quiet times are from 10pm to 6am. No loud music or yelling between those hours.

At this time, we will be a 4A club for the event. This means we will only have 4 amateur radios performing contest operations at any given time. More radios are permitted, but must not be involved in contest operations.

Bring your own food, water, sleeping arrangements, toiletries, and entertainment.

Prepare for cold temps and rain regardless of what the forecast calls for.

Several group activities are planned such as antenna building, SDR radio tutorials, radio mentorship, and more.

By attending this event, you agree and understand that video and audio will be captured and displayed publically on various media platforms. Your image and voice may be used in these recordings.
