The Mesa Amateur Radio Club

Combining ham radio, The great outdoors, and friendships | Mesa, Arizona, USA

Possible new event!!

We are interested in knowing who would be interested in doing a “help me get on the air” event in a park?

We would need to see who all needs assistance, who has mic fright, who has never been on the radio and needs assistance setting up their radio and going over the basics.

We will also need volunteers to help do things like assistance in programming radios, teaching how to program radios, then taking the time to helping others making their first contact via both simplex and by repeater.

We are thinking a weekend day would be best, not sure when, but I was thinking either the weekend after Christmas (chances are, someone will get a new radio and want to play with it), or perhaps the first weekend of the new year.

If this sounds interesting, post a comment, or email me at ke7vlc@wm7rc.org.
